Arguably the greatest free-transfer of all time. Chaos’ right-hand man joined the club in a manner that usually sees players playing in the thirds and borrowing pads or being told to try alternative clubs. He sent Andrew Fortis a twitter message asking to come training and safe to say Fortis wasn’t holding much hope. However, the rest is history… JR joined us from Walsden where he scored over 10,000 runs for the club. He holds the individual highest amateur runs scored in a season with 1,376 including 5 centuries and back-to-back 1,000 runs in consecutive seasons. He was a Walsden Wood Cup winner in 2004, League champions in 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018. JR captained Walsden first team and his tenure secured the league and cup double in 2016. His most recent achievements are being a part of the back-to-back Sykes Cup champions, winning man of the match in the 2021 final and not yet been dismissed in a final. Without doubt a much-loved member of the club and true gentleman, however, he has been assaulted on the field twice in his two seasons here.
