Amogh Bhatkal

Our overseas import for the 2023 season is Moggy/Mogs/Mogdog who has travelled from Mumbai, India. A top order batsman, right arm off-spinner and shark in the ring on the field, he will add serious fire power to the ranks and will wear the number 28 shirt. Having represented Mumbai at u14, u16 and u19 in the national championship, as well as Mumbai University in the All India University Championship, he has a wealth of experience. From 2007-20202 he played for Payyade Sports Club in Mumbai’s top division for club tournaments. He is currently applying his trade for PJ Hindu Gymkhana in the same competition. Mogs also plays in the corporate Indian competitions where he has played for Reliance Energy, Tata sports club, now playing and working for Nirlon Sports Club in the top division. When the club heard of Mogs’ availability for the forthcoming season, Chaos made a phone call to his previous captain at Stroud CC to get a flavour of what to expect. The Stroud CC captain, Louis Gegg, provided a glowing reference, stating “he is an absolute JET!” and “he murders spin bowling”. To hear such positivity from his ex-captain and the words Louis used to describe Mogs was testament to his character both on and off the field. Last season Mogs scored 841 runs for Stroud at an average of 49.47, also taking 18 wickets and an economy rate of just 4.70. We are thrilled to have him here and he’s fitted into the squad seamlessly, we just need the weather to warm up so he’s not constantly shivering and wearing his woolly hat. We hope to see him our social media posts this year with MOM and game changing performances with the bat and ball. Good luck Moggy lad!!
